Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, life, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Island Scoop: Artisan Homemade Ice Cream

Island Scoop: Artisan Homemade Ice Cream

It is summer! and in the Turks and Caicos where it is summer year round except for one week of fall, 80 to 90 degrees is the usual.

The heat wave is real and all of us are trying to stay cool, you can see everyone having more days by the water whether it's the ocean, lake or pool. But there are also nice and refreshing ways to cool down and enjoy the summer and indulge in your sweet tooth. Yes I'm talking about ice cream!! You probably didn't get the hint as I took three whole sentences before mentioning the word; oops my apologies I will mislead you no longer.

Let's talk about Island Scoop a cute little ice cream shop snug in a very aesthetically pleasing corner across the street from Jais in Grace Bay. You cannot miss it as there is a huge cow in the front, I believe her name is Gracie. (don't quote me on that.)

As you pass the so call Gracie the cow and get inside the fun begins, they have many flavors to choose from and guess what!? it's all homemade ice cream!

I'm always up for a good cone of homemade ice cream; honestly who isn't?  You can choose from the basics Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla to more creative flavors like Rum & Raison, Rocky Road and Peppermint.  Don't worry if you can't choose, we all have our moments especially when it comes to food and there is so many delicious flavors in from of you and you just want to eat everything!....ok maybe that's just me.

Island Scoop will let you try samples to make life a bit easier and if there's  two you still can't decide from that just means you were meant to get both; right!? Right. They also have different smoothie flavors and other dessert options. Of course I went for a classic, a banana split and oh my goodness it was so good; it was the perfect way to begin my husband and I little ice cream date. I believe I forgot to mention me and Arvin was on a date; but I did promise not to mislead you anymore away from the ice cream so I'm mentioning it now.

We also got a chocolate mocha smoothies and did the ironically cute photo of two people drinking from one glass; curtsies to Island Scoop. The customer service at Island Scoop is amazing, they are so friendly and helpful and will definitely be seeing our faces again; as they have invited us back for breakfast. Yes I said breakfast; there serve homemade waffles and other breakfast goodies and you can choose from sweet or savory.

This place is excellent for families or going on ice cream dates, the prices are great and the atmosphere is wonderful; I highly recommend this place if you are visiting or living in the Turks and Caicos anytime of the year as it is always summer.
