19th Annual Food Fair
It's the end of May which usually means; other then everyone in the US graduating, but also a national holiday. In the US it is Memorial day but here in the Turks and Caicos it is National Heroes Day.
It is that time of year again where we all take out our boats and gather with family at a picnic or barbecue and really appreciate each other as well as the meaning behind the day. This holiday weekend I had the opportunity to support my community by visiting a food fair that's been held at Champions for Christ School of Excellence.
This year was their 19th annual Food Fair and I must say my first time attending this event was excellent and left a great impression. To attend this event you will need to buy a ticket; adults are $20 and kids are $10 this ticket includes your food that you will be getting as well as drinks.
They will totally be seeing my face again next year, not only was the food great but the support that the parents showed these students that attend this school was simply amazing. There were wonderful performances of each country these students were from; as well as food vendors from other countries as well.
You had the Philippines, Guyana, Jamaica, Nigeria, Turks and Caicos, Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.
All of the food was amazing and so were all of the performances but I must be truthful Guyana sold it for me. The wild rice and the Roti and Curry made my stomach so so so happy lol, and the three little girls that performed for Guyana were simply adorable as they did they dance and wave their flag with all the enthusiasm they could muster.
Sorry for the lack of food pictures as I totally forgot to take pictures of the food because I was too busy eating it lol. But you guys can believe me when I tell you the food was amazing and there was enough for everyone.
So the next time you visit the Turks and Caicos on a Memorial Day weekend just remember that is also National Heroes Day for us and if you live in the Turks and Caicos and want to know what to do on this holiday weekend check out Champions for Christ School of Excellence Food Fair.
You definitely won't regret it and you definitely won't be hungry lol, until next time. Later ~
